FIND YOUR PATH
The idea of CrossFit (particularly using a barbell) was quite intimidating to me, but I decided to take a leap of faith and go for it. Before my first month was over, I was hooked. After my first year with the help of Barry Pepper, I began to dial in my nutrition. My favorite aspect of CrossFit is there is always another level waiting for you once you’ve achieved a goal. I will say, CrossFit is more of a marathon than a sprint. I am continuous work in progress, and I am grateful for this family who has been there to encourage me along the way. I have loved every minute of my journey, and I look forward to many, many more!

CrossFit changed my life in that it saved my Career as a United States Sailor. For 14 years in the Navy I would just squeak by on the Height/Weight and Body fat standard because I had a Pencil Neck. Once starting CrossFit, I never had to worry about missing those standards. I improved my run times and my Pushups and sit-up portion to the point of being a coordinator for PT program. My proudest accomplishment is one I’m still currently working on. After Failure upon Failure of losing weight I reached the heaviest I had ever weighted. #292 8 months ago, and I have lost over #50 since, will continue till I reach my goal.

Fitness, for me, started out as getting in shape after having four children. It quickly became a part of my life, giving me the energy and motivation I need to have productive and rewarding days. Bootcamp has boosted my confidence and constantly reminds me that anything is achievable with training and determination. Honestly, the real reason I keep pushing is because I can. My sister was diagnosed with a terminal illness and I have seen first hand how we take our physical ability for granted. To be able to move freely, to have control of your body, to be strong, to run…this is a gift. There are no guarantees, but as long as I am moving I feel alive.

Barry Pepper – Owner/CEO
You could say Barry has a life calling to teach. He spent several years coaching youth hockey in Minnesota before entering a career as a PGA Golf Professional. During Barry’s time as a PGA Golf Professional his patience, passion and nurturing personality made his students easily absorb his philosophy and enjoy his lessons. In 2011 he found CrossFit and he was hooked immediately. He couldn’t get enough of the workouts, read enough about the sport or watch enough of the videos. Barry became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer so he could share his love of fitness with others. Erica Pepper – Owner/Coach
Erica’s full-time career is and has always been in private country clubs, once you have spent some time with her you will see why hospitality is the perfect fit to her poised, gracious personality. She spent ten years of her youth dancing her way around her small southern town. She was trained in tap, en pointe, jazz, acrobats, modern ballet and clogging. During her youth adult years she was a state champion weightlifter in Florida, captain of her cheer team, and a tennis player. In search of continuing her active lifestyle she went to a globo gym, Zumba classes, biked, swam, and rollerbladed, but nothing struck her fancy. After a year of yoga she began to dabble in CrossFit, she fell head over heals in love with the sport. Erica never thought her weightlifting history would be relevant but it was a perfect resurrection for this amazing sport sweeping the hearts of the world.

As a CrossFit athlete and a coach I realize how important food is to fuel my body and maintain energy throughout each and every day. The big question is how do we as athletes find time to do this. We all live busy lives and are on the go constantly. This is why we...
First off, let’s start off with what I thought about CrossFit before I ever walked into a gym. I thought CrossFit was agrungy, dirty, smelly place where only men worked out and stared at the females in the class like steak and potatoes. I thought CrossFit was a place...
The answer to this question may not seem as simple as it really is. We see all of these athletes competing in the CrossFit games today and they have muscles popping out of their muscles. This is true for both the males and females. However, these athletes have a...
How are the next generation of athletes affected by it? The definition of specializes is to concentrate ones efforts in a special activity, field, or practice. Basically this means a hockey player plays and practices just hockey, baseball players only play baseball, a...
Before you decide to get up each day and head to work, to the gym, or out to the grocery store you make a decision to move that day. Getting up out of bed or off the couch and moving is your first step towards fitness. You may not think of that way way because those...
Over the holiday weekend I had the opportunity to have lots of different conversations with many different people. Neighbors, friends of neighbors, other CrossFit athletes, our own athletes, coaches, mentors, kids, and family. Of all of those conversations one stood...
