I know that it is scary to get started in a new program.  70% of women do not like to work out in a co-ed public club.  Guess what, you can start your new adventure in the privacy of your home on the plateau or in my private studio.  Progress may be as follows:

  • Meet me at Starbucks and see if you and I are the right fit ( I’m an over 50 woman) for each other
  • Maybe join the walking club
  • Try either a private 1/2 hour training session for FREE!
  • Training is geared for new exercisers,  overweight, women over 40 or returning from an injury
  • Then let’s get moving!

13 Steps to Get You Moving

The best way to ensure that you’re getting enough exercise is to avoid falling into a workout rut. Try these suggestions to jazz up your workout:

  1. Choose an activity that’s fun.
  2. Vary your activities so you don’t get bored.
  3. Use different jogging, walking, or biking paths to vary your routine.
  4. If you can’t set aside one long block of time, do several shorter sessions of activity throughout the day, such as three 10-minute walks.
  5. Create opportunities for activity, such as parking your car some distance from your destination and walking.
  6. Don’t let cold weather keep you on the couch! You can find activities to do in the winter, such as exercising to a workout video.
  7. Exercise with a friend or family member and join one of my classes.
  8. If you have children, make time to play with them outside. Set a good example!
  9. Turn activities into social occasions—for example, go to a movie after you and a friend work out.
  10. Find a community group to go on hikes, build walking trails, start exercise classes, and organize special events to promote physical activity. How about my women’s only fitness class or Sammamish Women’s Walking Club?
  11. Set specific, short-term goals, and reward yourself (with something other than food!) when you achieve them.
  12. Don’t expect to notice body changes right away.
  13. Make your activity a regular part of your day so it becomes a habit.
